• Crysis 2 PC Demo Goes Live

The long-awaited Crysis 2 PC demo, originally slated for release on March 1, is now available for your downloading pleasure. The demo gives players a sampling of two maps — the rooftop-laden Skyline and Pier 17, an open environment with limited cover opportunities.

The demo we’ve found it is locked to DX9, while the full game will support DX11. Despite this, it still looks fantastic. Crysis 2 hits store shelves and digital distribution outlets on March 22 in North America.

You can grab the demo from EA’s site here

  • Killzone 3 Demo Making The Latest Reviews Seem Unreliable

After playing the single player demo and reading some of the latest reviews, it seems Guerrilla Games latest shooter may have been unfairly nit-picked to the point of ridiculousness by some of the more popular gaming networks. Here is what game-insider had to say:

From the gameplay of this demo it is truly hard to believe any respectable gaming journalist would actually undercut this experience with negative propaganda based on some self righteous quest to be different. These reviews might be going beyond the point of an opinion. They can appear to become over-exaggerated banter with no respect for the herculean development efforts put forth by Guerrilla Games.

From complaints that the cut-scenes go black causing too much delay between the action, the dialogue being considered flat and boring with no real need to listen, to being called a ‘miserable experience’, and not offering anything new to the genre which I must add is a complete double-standard, this demo begs to differ in a big way. In fact this demo which more than likely doesn’t scratch the surface of the full experience makes an embarrassing mess of the holes found in some the latest reviews.

Nevertheless, this is only a demo.

To our gaming journalist brother and sisters who tirelessly and HONESTLY place the interest and concerns of gamers before their very own, I salute you.

  • How Big is Killzone 3 in Terms of Size?

If there’s one thing that says a lot about a game is the size, with Sony’s next big title Killzone 3 releasing soon, just how does it stack up?

Today at JPS headquarters we got quite the interesting package straight from Sony, a prerelease copy of the upcoming title Killzone 3. The Killzone series has a lot going on from amazing graphics to a top class online multiplayer. Fans who might have played the demo may recall a rather large download size, nearly 4 GB in size. So this brings up the question, just how big is Killzone 3? Its quite the understable question, most of the higher file size games are either top tier or have nearly endless things to do; some examples would be Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, God of War 3 and the highest of all Final Fantasy XIII.

As our first of many topics to give you all the details on this powerhouse, we are happy to announce that Killzone 3 is 41.5 GB making it just a little bit over Final Fantasy XIII making it the largest current Playstation 3 title. This is quite a shock considering the last game (Killzone 2) clocked in with a respectable 12 GB! With this news though, I’m sure you have to be wondering if there’s a data install. I mean most largest games have one, and you want something this nice to run perfectly right? Well we are happy to announce that Killzone 3 officially has NO data install and runs perfectly!

Stay tuned for more information in the days to come.
