Scary Movie 5 Official Movie Trailer

I’m a big fan of the Scary Movie franchise, but this time it seems the fifth installment and a reboot actually didn’t get it right at least without Cindy and Brenda.

Watch the first trailer below for Scary Movie 5 which spoofs movies like Paranormal Activity, Inception and Black Swan:

The movie stars Ashley Tisdale, Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Heather Locklear, Kate Walsh, Mike Tyson, Katt Williams and more. Here’s the synopsis,

Snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French dance company director Pierre is putting on a new production. Jody (Tisdale), a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra (Ash) are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry (Shannon), gets cut from the production and goes berserk.

Scary Movie 5 hits theaters on April 12th, 2013

  • SCARY MOVIE 5 Has Been Announced

In an attempt to prove that Scary Movie’s jokes weren’t funny 11 years ago and still aren’t today, The Weinstein Company announced this morning on Facebook that Scary Movie 5 is, indeed, happening. Yup. Groan. Anyway, other than the simple statement, “Scary Movie 5 is announced by The Weinstein Company,” there haven’t been any other details announced, including no word on whether or not Anna Faris will reprise her role as Cindy Campbell.

So, is this a good announcement? Probably not. But in the franchise’s defense, the previous film (Scary Movie 4) was released about five years ago, which is plenty of time for the filmmakers to rethink what worked and what didn’t.

Each film cost under $50 million to produce and they’ve brought in over $818 million worldwide.
