iOS 6.1.1 For iPhone 4S Released to Address Cellular Issues
Following the 3G performance and reliability issues issues plagued with iOS 6.1, Apple has released iOS 6.1.1 for the iPhone 4S. You can update your iPhone over-the-air via the iOS settings application.

The new iPad
Apple has recently held a conference call discussing Apple’s plans for its $100 billion cash balance, they are initiating a dividend and share repurchase program later this year, during that Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company saw “record†sales for the new iPad in its opening weekend. Now Apple elaborated on that by issuing an official press release showing how many new iPads were sold in the three days following the product’s launch last Friday; three million new iPads sold in just three days:
The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold―the strongest iPad launch yet,†said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Customers are loving the incredible new features of iPad, including the stunning Retina display, and we can’t wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday.

This is a tutorial on how to perform an untethered jailbreak of your A5-Powered iPhone 4S or iPad 2 running on iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1 using the newly released Absinthe. For Mac, Linux and Windows
Note: Make sure to do a backup of your device in iTunes because you may lose you Camera Roll during this process.

Step One
Download the latest version of Absinthe. Links below.
Step Two
Double click to extract/launch the Absinthe application.
Step Three
Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to the computer via USB.
Step Four
Click the Jailbreak button to begin
Step Five
The application will take you through several steps.
Step Six
On your device, locate the Absinthe icon and press it to complete your jailbreak
If the server is down and you get an Error establishing a database connection message then tap the Settings icon on your springboard and turn on VPN.
You will get a configuration error; however, after about a minute your device will reboot with Cydia on the Springboard!

The jailbreak community just released an untethered jailbreak solution for A5-powered devices, iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1. In a blog post, the French hacker Pod2g revealed the name of the tool as Absinthe.
Absinthe
Now, the hacker p0sixninja tweeted that the tool is ready and the updated greenpois0n tool is now available for download. This means that iPad 2 and iPhone 4S owners can finally jailbreak their device without the need to tether it to a computer after a reboot.
