The new service and progress tracking accompanying the launch of the hit Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, has now mad its way into the App Store. Dubbed, Call of Duty Elite, the app allows gamers to monitor their stats, view reports, get social and much more.
Call Of Duty Elite App
As promised by Activision, the official Call of Duty Elite app is now available on the App Store.
Skype has finally released their iPad version. The app isn’t a universal update for the iPhone version, meaning you’ll have to download it as a separate app on your iPad. The application brings everything you love from the iPhone version to the iPad’s larger display. This includes instant messaging, audio chatting, and video conferencing. The app can do video and audio calling both on WiFi and 3G. The same Skype for iPad, first “leaked†online back in late June.
A list of features from the iTunes page:
Talk face-to-face or show what you’re seeing with front and back-facing cameras.
Use Skype for iPad to call anyone else on Skype – and enjoy near CD quality (SILK) sound.
Instant message and add emoticons to personalize your messages.
Make cheap calls to landlines or mobiles from your iPad.
Get an Online Number from Skype so people can call you on your iPad.
Pay As You Go with Skype Credit – great for when you’re using Skype every now and again.
Pay monthly with a subscription – best if you use Skype a lot.
The $29.99 download is 3.5GB. OS X Lion 10.7 is the first version of OS X to be distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store, so you’ll have to be upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to install the update. A license to run OS X Lion costs $29.99, which can run on multiple machines, as long as they are connected to the same Apple ID.
Google has just released a free but invite-only and now open for everyone Photovine for iOSÂ app on the App Store. People can request an invite on the site, which is needed to take advantage of an iOS app. Google loves to introduce invite-only products and services, think the latest Google+.
Update: Download the App from the App Store to sign up and start vining immediately
Photovine is Google’s attempt at social photo sharing that takes on other platforms such as Flickr, Facebook photos, Picasa and other services. Its not weird for Google to feature an iPhone 4 instead of Nexus S as the iPhone 4 is the most prominent and the most popular camera on Flickr?! Watch the teaser in the bottom.
Release notes from iTunes:
Photovine is a fun way to learn more about your friends, meet new people, and share your world like never before. It all starts with what we call a photovine: a group of photos around a single, shared caption. Start a new vine with a photo and caption of your own or add your photo/take on someone else’s vine. Photovine is invite-only at the moment, so you’ll be asked to enter your email address after installing the app. If you haven’t already been invited to Photovine by a friend, you can visit our website at photovine.com to request an invitation.
