• Killzone 3 Leaked Online

A pre-release version of Sony’s Killzone 3 has reportedly hit torrent sites, just a day after the leak of Crytek’s Crysis 2.

The European version of Killzone 3 has apparently been made available on a handful of P2P sites, and can run on hacked PS3s. There are two files in the wild, one including 3D capability – which weighs in at a bulky 41.4GB – and one without.

Sony will no doubt be working overtime to spot pirates, so it kind of goes without saying that downloading either file is very much not a good idea.

It’s not as if there’s too long to wait for the real deal: The news comes little over a week before Killzone 3’s release date – February 22 in the US and three days later in the UK.

An early developer build of Crytek’s Crysis 2 hit torrent sites yesterday – a full month before the FPS title’s planned release date.

  • An Actual Crisis: Crysis 2 Leaked Online [Updated]

According to a thread of the Facepunch forums via RPS, a developer build of Crysis 2 containing the full game, multiplayer and the master key for the online authentication has been leaked, and is currently freely available from all sorts of astonishingly illegal websites. This sounds like it might be a serious tragedy for Crytek. Crysis 2 was scheduled for release on the 22nd of March, so the leaked build could be dangerously close to be finished.

    Update #1:

The leak also includes the CryEngine 3 Editor. OMG

    Update #2:

Publisher EA has issued a statement in response to the gut-wrenching news that Crysis 2 was leaked online nearly five hours ago. The company says it is “deeply disappointed” over today’s events and was keen to point out the PC leak is not representative of the final build, urging fans to wait it out until March 22.

The full statement is after the break.

Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community

  • Killzone 3 Demo Making The Latest Reviews Seem Unreliable

After playing the single player demo and reading some of the latest reviews, it seems Guerrilla Games latest shooter may have been unfairly nit-picked to the point of ridiculousness by some of the more popular gaming networks. Here is what game-insider had to say:

From the gameplay of this demo it is truly hard to believe any respectable gaming journalist would actually undercut this experience with negative propaganda based on some self righteous quest to be different. These reviews might be going beyond the point of an opinion. They can appear to become over-exaggerated banter with no respect for the herculean development efforts put forth by Guerrilla Games.

From complaints that the cut-scenes go black causing too much delay between the action, the dialogue being considered flat and boring with no real need to listen, to being called a ‘miserable experience’, and not offering anything new to the genre which I must add is a complete double-standard, this demo begs to differ in a big way. In fact this demo which more than likely doesn’t scratch the surface of the full experience makes an embarrassing mess of the holes found in some the latest reviews.

Nevertheless, this is only a demo.

To our gaming journalist brother and sisters who tirelessly and HONESTLY place the interest and concerns of gamers before their very own, I salute you.

  • Killzone 3 Multiplayer Open Beta Coming Today

Not included in the Killzone 3 closed beta which run a few months ago, the PlayStation Move motion controller will be supported in the announced Killzone 3 open beta, which will run between the 2nd/3rd and the 14th/15th of February (dates refer to US/EU schedules).

Everyone will be able to participate by downloading the beta client from the PlayStation Store when the time comes. This is not a PlayStation Plus exclusive.

The beta will feature the snowy “Frozen Dam” map and give access to 3 multiplayer modes (Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations), along with the offline Botzone mode, which pits you against AI opponents.

And yes, 3D and Move Supported controls will be available too.

[UPDATE] Sony has also released a brand new multiplayer video set in a never before seen map called “Bilgarsk Boulevard”. Check it out below.

One more multiplayer video, this time featuring the never before seen “Kaznan Junge”. Looks amazing.
