• Jailbreak Utility blocks iOS From Tracking iPhone Location Data

    Jailbreak developer Ryan Petrich has released a new jailbreak utility called untrackerd, which manages to block iOS and Apple’s ability to track your device’s location information. this application comes after the discovery that Apple’s iPhone keeps track of where you go – and saves every detail of it to a secret file on the device which is then copied to the owner’s computer when the two are synchronised.  which in turn let anybody with access to your phone or computer get detailed information about where you’ve been. Untrackerd is available for free on the Cydia

    Security researchers have discovered that Apple’s iPhone keeps track of where you go – and saves every detail of it to a secret file on the device which is then copied to the owner’s computer when the two are synchronised. The Guardian is reporting today.

    The file contains the latitude and longitude of the phone’s recorded coordinates along with a timestamp, meaning that anyone who stole the phone or the computer could discover details about the owner’s movements using a simple program.

    For some phones, there could be almost a year’s worth of data stored, as the recording of data seems to have started with Apple’s iOS 4 update to the phone’s operating system, released in June 2010.

    “Apple has made it possible for almost anybody – a jealous spouse, a private detective – with access to your phone or computer to get detailed information about where you’ve been,” said Pete Warden, one of the researchers.

    It’s just a simple app that pulls the location data out of your saved iPhone files and displays the coordinates on a map. For those interested, Warden answers a full list of FAQ and breaks down how to locate the secret file yourself through file browsing.

    Anonymous is a movie by Roland Emmerich which Surprisingly, has nothing to do with world devastation & catastrophe. Instead, the movie digs into the interesting conspiracy theory that revolves around William Shakespeare and how some scholars believe that he never wrote anything that has his name on it. Emmerich is well known for directing movies such as 10,000 BC, 2012, and The Day After Tomorrow.

    The movie stars Rhys Ifans, Vanessa Redgrave, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Xavier Samuel, Sebastian Armesto, Rafe Spall, Edward Hogg, Jamie Campbell Bower and Derek Jacobi.

    It’s set to be released on September 30th 2011.

  • George Lucas really believes the World will End in 2012!

    If you’re a celebrity who owns a fantastical ranch full of spaceship paraphernalia, chances are you have a passing relationship with reality, anyway. Unfortunately, it turns out George Lucas and reality are barely even acquaintances, as Seth Rogen just revealed that Mr. Lucas allegedly holds a sincere belief in Mayan apocalypse lore. Funnier yet: Steven Spielberg is pretty annoyed about it.

    In a new Toronto Sun article, Rogen explains that a meeting with Lucas and Spielberg soured once the subject turned to Mayan calendar drama.

    “George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the year 2012, like, for real. He thinks it.

    “He’s going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, ‘My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry…’

    “I first thought he (Lucas) was joking… and then I totally realized he was serious and then I started thinking, ‘If you’re George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a year, there’s no way you haven’t built a spaceship for yourself… So I asked him… ‘Can I have a seat on it?’

    “He claimed he didn’t have a spaceship, but there’s no doubt there’s a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go… It’s gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I’ll be blown up like the rest of us.”

    Jar-jarring stuff. But, not so surprising, right? I’m sure he sleeps in a Brian Wilson sandbox full of moon rocks, too. Authenticity is important in a sci-fi auteur!
